Since it is a symptomatic presentation on the rise in epidemio-logical surveys, it is necessary for the psychoanalytic theoretical framework to have a definition of bulimia that allows it to operate efficiently in clinical formalization. In turn, this movement implies an apprehension of the experience with another degree of rigor. We take Freudian research on the subject, as well as the impulsive character of bulimia, coordinated on the subject that Lacan emphasized. From there we will propose a tilting movement with the elaborations of the most important analysts within the perspective of Lacanian psychoanalysis, as well as we will locate certain differential coordinates be-tween bulimia and obesity. In a final section we present the conclusions we reached, as well as the subsequent lines of investigation. En el presente artículo se circunscriben los diversos problemas de la definición de bulimia para el psicoanálisis. Siendo una presentación sintomática en franco ascenso en los relevamientos epidemiológicos, se hace preciso para el marco teórico psicoanalítico contar con una definición de bulimia que le permita operar de manera eficiente en la formalización clínica. A su vez, dicho movimiento implica una aprehensión de la experiencia con otro grado de rigurosidad. Tomamos las investigaciones freudianas sobre el tema, así como también el carácter impulsivo de la bulimia, coordenada sobre el tema que acentuó Lacan. Desde allí propondremos un movimiento de basculación con las elaboraciones de los analistas más importantes dentro de la perspectiva del psicoanálisis lacaniano, así como ubicaremos ciertas coordenadas diferenciales entre la bulimia y la obesidad. En un apartado final exponemos las conclusiones a las que arribamos, así como también las líneas de investigación ulteriores.
