In a matter of months, the virus radically changed the lives of millions of people and its effects already seem to show particular risks for children, especially in families living in vulnerable situations. This work aims to explore some effects of COVID-19 on the well-being of boys and girls in Argentina, with special interest in the residents of the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. Knowing how complex it would be to try to provide some theoretical approaches when the tidal wave of the pandemic is still hitting the South American region, a literary work will be used as a strategy to extract fictional and fantastic figures that allow to catalyze reflection and thus relate environments and situations that the story presents with the first impressions on the social dynamics generated by the pandemic in the field of childhood. With this qualitative strategy, based on bibliographic and documentary analysis, an attempt will be made to provide some keys to indicate paths of thought that could be retaken in the future from more exhaustive research on the impact of COVID-19 on the well-being of children. La pandemia por COVID-19 desató una emergencia sanitaria de dimensiones inéditas alrededor del planeta. En cuestión de meses, el virus cambió radicalmente la vida de millones de personas y sus efectos parecen ya evidenciar riesgos particulares para las niñas y los niños, sobre todo en aquellas familias que viven en situaciones de vulnerabilidad. Este trabajo pretende explorar algunos efectos del COVID-19 en el bienestar de niñas y niños en Argentina, con particular interés en las y los residentes de la zona metropolitana de Buenos Aires. A sabiendas de lo complejo que resultaría intentar aportar algunas aproximaciones teóricas cuando el maremágnum de la pandemia todavía está azotando a la región sudamericana, se recurrirá a una obra literaria como estrategia para extraer figuras ficcionales y fantásticas que permitan catalizar la reflexión y así emparentar ambientes y situaciones que presenta el relato con las primeras impresiones sobre las dinámicas sociales generadas por la pandemia en el ámbito de la niñez. Con esta estrategia cualitativa, basada en el análisis bibliográfico y documental, se tratará de aportar algunas claves para señalizar senderos de pensamiento que pudieran ser retomados en el futuro desde investigaciones más exhaustivas sobre el impacto del COVID-19 en el bienestar de niñas y niños.
