Without attempting a conclusive analyse of this issue, we try to identify those elements that -in our understanding - have set the compass of bolivian political life, whose course culminated, for the moment, with the return of the MAS to the government but without Morales. Arce is ready to rule. The questions are many and the challenges even more. En el presente escrito reflexionamos sobre los acontecimientos más importantes que han direccionado la historia reciente de Bolivia, desde la asunción de Evo Morales en 2006, pasando por su renuncia forzada en 2019 y la celebración de las elecciones presidenciales un año más tarde. Sin pretender una mirada conclusiva de la cuestión, procuramos identificar aquellos elementos que –a nuestro entender- han marcado el compás de la vida política boliviana, cuyo derrotero culminó, por el momento, con el regreso del MAS al gobierno, pero sin la presencia de Morales. Arce está listo para gobernar. Los interrogantes son muchos y los desafíos aún más.
