It represented an important challenge for the educational system in which the main theme was focused on the education of people with special educational needs. This attention has transcended the framework of Special Education and has been extended to all educational levels. Therefore, it is a priority from the university to provide the resources, support and aid in the undergraduate training, fundamentally of the Primary Education professional to offer a quality education. In this article, a study of the undergraduate training of these professionals is carried out, suggesting actions that allow them to attend to the diversity of students. La atención a la diversidad ha devenido en centro del debate en los últimos años en diferentes contextos. Representó un importante desafío para el sistema educativo en el que el tema principal se enfocaba hacia la educación de las personas con necesidades educativas especiales. Esta atención, ha trascendido los marcos de la educación especial y se ha extendido a todos los niveles educativos. Por lo que constituye una prioridad desde la universidad dotar de los recursos, apoyos y ayudas en la formación de pregrado fundamentalmente del profesional de la educación primaria para ofrecer una educación de calidad. En el presente artículo se realiza un estudio de la formación de pregrado de estos profesionales, sugiriendo acciones que les permita atender a la diversidad de educandos.
