On the other hand, identify what actors, ideas and determinations then operated to favor those initiatives. And finally, to reflect on the extent to which that process and the behavior of its main protagonists can be useful today to reflect on the difficulties encountered by political and military leadership in the twenty-first century to provide Argentina with a system of national defense. El trabajo tiene como objetivo, por un lado, analizar el proceso de reestructuración y modernización producido en la década de 1990, el cual constituyó la última iniciativa con consecuencias efectivas de proveer medios necesarios para garantizar la operatividad de las unidades de esa Fuerza y una tentativa parcial de reestructuración de su diseño y despliegue. Por otro lado, identificar qué actores, ideas y qué determinaciones operaron entonces para favorecer esas iniciativas. Y, por último, reflexionar en qué medida aquel proceso y el comportamiento de sus principales protagonistas pueden ser de utilidad hoy para reflexionar sobre las dificultades encontradas por las conducciones políticas y militares en el siglo XXI para dotar a la Argentina de un sistema de defensa nacional.
