Arendt's proposal in relation to this topic. In terms of E. Balibar, this antinomy consists on the conjugation of a radical critique of the anthropological foundation (human nature does not preexist the granting of rights given by the institutions), with an inflexible defense of human rights that must be placed in the center of a democratic construction (what remains to be done when we admit that the same institutions that make human beings through the reciprocal concession of rights, are the ones that can destroy them or impede their exercise?). Through this development, we will try to probe that, behind the ambiguity of Arendt’s proposal, there is a certain conception of politics that suggests us certain ways of action at the same time that imposes new challenges on us. El objetivo de este escrito es reflexionar sobre el papel que han de jugar en el mundo actual los derechos humanos, a partir de una antinomia que está presente en la propuesta que hace H. Arendt en relación a este tópico. En términos de E. Balibar, dicha antinomia consiste en la conjugación de una crítica radical al fundamento antropológico (en virtud de la cual la naturaleza humana no preexiste a la concesión de derechos por parte de las instituciones), con una defensa inflexible de los derechos humanos que se ha de situar en el centro de la construcción democrática (¿qué resta por hacer cuando admitimos que son las mismas instituciones que hacen humanos a los sujetos a través de la concesión recíproca de derechos, las que puedan destruirlos o impedir su ejercicio?). A través de este desarrollo, se intentará dar cuenta de que, a la ambigüedad del planteo arendtiano, subyace una determinada concepción de la política que nos sugiere determinas vías de acción al mismo tiempo en que nos impone nuevos desafíos.
