Este artículo trata sobre la Medicalización desde la publicidad en Barranquilla durante los años 1938 a 1944, tomando como fuente el diario La Prensa. Se estudiará a Barranquilla en pleno auge económico y sus problemas sociales, entre esos, de higiene, y ello se verá reflejado en las defunciones de niños menores de 10 años. Simultáneamente la ciudad y el país vivió un momento destacable de apertura económica que contrasta con la precariedad de los servicios básicos, en suma, la publicidad sabrá tomar esas necesidades y volverlas consumibles. Por esa razón se toma la publicidad de alimentos y medicinas para niños, ya que las falencias del aparato estatal fueron filtradas por el comercio mediante las estrategias publicitarias que buscaban medicalizar a la infancia de la urbe, en ese orden de ideas, se pretende responder al interrogante ¿de qué manera las estrategias publicitarias de productos para niños tenían cabida en el contexto social de la Barranquilla de 1938 a 1944?
