In recent times the theme has become visible, through information massification, different approach perspectives and new knowledge production that problematize them. In this paper’s perspective, we consider gender violence as one of the consequences of naturalization of the hierarchical relationship between genders that inscribes the masculine in a dominant role and the feminine in a subordinate, subaltern role. In this manner, violence against woman must be read in cultural key. The present analyses the present vision that determines the way public policies on gender violence are being designed today, to then question the constructions on which these have been established and grounded. The challenge is to think about a reformulation of the look on the role of the men in modern society and the importance of its incorporation in the planning of new interventions. La violencia de género ha flagelado a las sociedades a lo largo de la historia. En los últimos tiempos se ha visibilizado la temática, por medio de la masificación de la información, las distintas perspectivas de abordaje y las nuevas producciones de conocimiento que la problematizan. Desde la perspectiva del trabajo, se considera a la violencia de género como una de las consecuencias derivadas de la naturalización de la relación jerárquica entre géneros que inscribe a lo masculino en un rol dominante y a lo femenino en un rol subordinado, subalterno. De esta manera, la violencia contra las mujeres debe ser leída en clave cultural. En el presente trabajo se analiza la visión actual que condiciona el modo en que hoy día se diseñan las políticas públicas en materia de violencia de género, para luego poner en cuestión las construcciones sobre las cuales éstas se han establecido y fundamentado. Se desafía a pensar en una reformulación de la mirada sobre el papel de los hombres en la sociedad moderna y la importancia que tiene su incorporación en la planificación de nuevas intervenciones.
