This paper highlights how indigenous women use legality, which, in turn, has become an arena of multiple negotiations. En el presente artículo se destaca la creciente relevancia que ha tenido la perspectiva de género en la antropología jurídica mexicana, para analizar la problemática de la administración de justicia de los pueblos indígenas. El género se constituye en una categoría de análisis que permite comprender las ideologías de género que se manifiestan en las prácticas, procedimientos y normatividades de la justicia indígena y estatal.
