In this sense, the Mapuche poetic, in general, introduces a homological process into the communicative interaction of traditional culture rooted in a sacred vision of the cosmos where the "pewma" and ritual prayers such as "yeyipun", "nguillatun" or the "machi ül" are linking resorts between tangible and intangible, human and supernatural, thus becoming a support and mechanism of a discourse that opens like an ethos extension of traditional culture. El "pewma" –sueño- en la cultura mapuche responde a un tipo de comunicación y práctica social de la cultura ancestral, el cual ha sido integrado en las actuales expresiones artísticas mapuches como parte del proceso de retradicionalización que opera en éstas en la reafirmación de una identidad cultural diferenciada y propia, y como estrategia de enmascaramiento del canon estético occidental en el cual estas expresiones fundamentan sus soportes discursivos. En este sentido, el discurso poético mapuche, en general, introduce un proceso homológico sobre lo que es la interacción comunicativa de la cultura tradicional, radicada en una visión sacralizada del cosmos, donde el "pewma" junto las oraciones rituales, el mito, y/o el "machi ül" se proponen como instancias vehiculadoras entre lo tangible y lo intangible, lo humano y lo sobrenatural, y se convierten a nivel textual en un soporte y mecanismo de un discurso que se abre como extensión del ethos cultural tradicional.
