It is concluded that awareness and education present themselves as ways to avoid linguistic and cultural homogenization of the country. Este artículo trata la problemática de las lenguas habladas en Venezuela desde la perspectiva de la ecolingüística. El objetivo fue ubicar cada lengua en la dinámica histórico-político-social y proyectarla hacia el futuro. Las técnicas y los procedimientos fueron de tipo teórico y cualitativo; éstos se complementaron con entrevistas semi-estructuradas. Se concluye que la concientización y la educación se presentan como vías para evitar la homogeneización lingüístico-cultural del país. Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
