| Sumario: | Right-wing nationalism is a movement with a long history in Argentina. The Movimiento Nacionalista Tacuara was one of the main groups of this current in the 1960s.
In this article, I will address the main features of Tacuara's political culture, among which stand out the anti-left stance, anti-Semitism, adherence to integralist Catholicism, admiration for European fascisms, the use of political violence, the rejection of liberal democracy and parliamentarism and, instead, the advocacy of a corporatist system. This last feature will be central. I will analyze how the nationalists conceived liberal democracy and the parliamentary system and how they proposed the need to replace them with a corporatist regime based on the trinomial family, unions and towns. |
