Nurtured by the various political, social and cultural projects in which they were inserted and which referred to dissimilar – and conflicting – conceptions of the political, these representations gave rise to cross homologations overcome by the dilemmas that were affecting international politics at that time. Thus, from broad sectors of Córdoba Catholicism, the rise of Sabattinism was read as an advance of communism and, on the other hand, from radicalism this position was attributed to the fascist affiliation of those who supported it. Con la mirada centrada en la coyuntura abierta con el retorno del radicalismo a la arena electoral y su ascenso al gobierno de la provincia de Córdoba de la mano de Amadeo Sabattini, en el presente artículo identificamos y analizamos las representaciones mutuas sostenidas por católicos y radicales sabattinistas. Nutridas de los diversos proyectos políticos, sociales y culturales en que se hallaban insertas y que remitían a disímiles –y enfrentadas– concepciones de lo político, estas representaciones daban lugar a homologaciones cruzadas franqueadas por los dilemas que por entonces atravesaban a la política internacional. Así, desde amplios sectores del catolicismo cordobés, el ascenso del sabattinismo fue leído como un avance del comunismo y, como contracara, desde el radicalismo este posicionamiento fue atribuido a la adscripción fascista de quienes lo sostenían.
