I15-R201-article-8332025-04-27T22:03:21Z Dirigentes conservadores, comicios competitivos y realineamientos partidarios (Córdoba, 1912) Moyano, Javier From the consideration of a specific situation, which includes the first election of national deputies carried out under the validity of the Sáenz Peña law at the beginning of 1912, and the first gubernatorial elections held, at the end of that year, after the adaptation of the provincial constitution to the new national provisions, we propose to contribute to the analysis of the relationships that were established, in the province of Córdoba, between the processes prior to the electoral reform, the impact of the new regulations on the scenarios in which the disputes were developed by political power, and the adaptive strategies of those segments of the leadership - whom we will call conservatives in the absence of a more appropriate concept to define them - who had participated in the ruling alliances in the past and now had to face the radicalism at the polls. To do this, we will focus on the political forces that brought together the conservatives in both elections, paying attention to the sectors that acted within them; to their previous trajectories in parties and cliques; to the reasons that explain their disputes; to the resources they had to resolve them. From the treatment of these issues we will try to reach some preliminary conclusions regarding the changes and continuities in political practices, especially at the level of survival of factionalism and the flexibility of the leadership to reach more or less unstable agreements with other forces. policies, even with bitter ideological rivals. A partir de la consideración de una coyuntura específica, que comprende la primera elección de diputados nacionales efectuada bajo la vigencia de la ley Sáenz Peña a principios de 1912, y los primeros comicios gubernativos realizados, a fines de ese año, tras la adaptación de la constitución provincial a las nuevas disposiciones nacionales, nos proponemos contribuir al análisis de las relaciones que se establecieron, en la provincia de Córdoba, entre los procesos previos a la reforma electoral, el impacto de la nueva normativa sobre los escenarios en que se desarrollaban las disputas por el poder político, y las estrategias adaptativas de aquellos segmentos de la dirigencia -a quienes denominaremos conservadores ante la ausencia de un concepto más apropiado para definirlos- que habían participado en las alianzas gobernantes en el pasado y ahora debían enfrentar al radicalismo en las urnas. Para ello nos concentraremos en las fuerzas políticas que agruparon a los conservadores en ambos comicios, prestando atención a los sectores que actuaban en su interior; a sus trayectorias previas en partidos y camarillas; a las razones que explican sus disputas; a los recursos con que contaban para dirimirlas. A partir del tratamiento de estas cuestiones intentaremos arribar a algunas conclusiones preliminares respecto a los cambios y continuidades en las prácticas políticas, en especial al nivel de pervivencia del faccionalismo y de la flexibilidad de la dirigencia para arribar a acuerdos más o menos inestables con otras fuerzas políticas, incluso con enconados rivales ideológicos.
