In these years occurs the decline of anarchism and the strengthening of the brand new syndicalist current. The study of the labor movement in this period, not only to know its own internal dynamics, but also to understand the future of Argentine society as a whole, due to the centrality that workers' organizations occupy in national history. In this article we point our analysis towards the main labor center of the time, the so-called Argentine Regional Workers' Federation of the IX Congress (FORA IX). We have shortened the period between the ninth congress of the entity, held in April 1915, and the inauguration of Hipólito Yrigoyen, in October 1916, to understand the type of workers' union with which the new president had to deal when he agreed for president. To carry out this research we have consulted a wide range of sources, union newspapers, party press, commercial newspapers and official documents. El período comprendido entre el Centenario y la primera presidencia de Yrigoyen representa una fase de transición en varios sentidos, a nivel de la estructura económica, del sistema político y del movimiento obrero. En estos años acontece el declive del anarquismo y el fortalecimiento de la flamante corriente sindicalista. El estudio del movimiento obrero en este período resulta fundamental, no sólo para conocer su propia dinámica interna, sino también para comprender el devenir del conjunto de la sociedad argentina, por la centralidad que ocupan las organizaciones obreras en la historia nacional. En este artículo apuntamos nuestro análisis hacia la principal central obrera de la época, la denominada Federación Obrera Regional Argentina del IX congreso (FORA IX). Hemos recortado el período comprendido entre el noveno congreso de la entidad, realizado en abril de 1915 y la asunción de Hipólito Yrigoyen, en octubre de 1916, para comprender el tipo de central obrera con la que tuvo que lidiar el nuevo mandatario al momento de acceder a la presidencia. Para realizar la presente investigación hemos consultado un amplio abanico de fuentes, periódicos gremiales, prensa partidaria, diarios comerciales y documentos oficiales. Escuela de Historia.
