| Sumario: | Fake news, known as fake news, is not a new phenomenon, but the digital age has amplified its impact, placing it at the centerof public debate. Disinformation on digital platforms is of global concern due to its ability to influence public opinion, polarizesocieties and affect elections. In response, several countries have developed regulations to mitigate its negative effects, fromregulations on advertising transparency to specific laws against fake news.Measures vary: some countries require the rapid removal of false content on social networks, while others promote medialiteracy so that citizens develop critical thinking. However, the fight against disinformation remains complex, requiring theactive participation of citizens and international cooperation. The development of technologies that automatically detectfalse information, along with the exchange of good practices between countries, are key to moving forward. At the sametime, it is crucial to balance the fight against disinformation with the protection of freedom of expression to avoid excessivecensorship. This work analyzes how fake news operates, how it spreads, and the actions that different countries have implemented to counteract it. |
