Sumario:Coming from Psychology, Thematic Analysis (TA) is a research technique to identify, analyze and report patterns, it means, themes by empirically collected data. It minimally organizes and describes the dataset in detail, and interprets aspects of the subject matter. Thus, this article aims to present it as once more research instrument option in Social Communication fiel, for investigations of qualitative approach. Using bibliographic research and a brief exploratory analysis, it can be seen advantages and disadvantages of TA, its difference and insertion in some other related and widespread theoretical-methodological techniques or resources (Discourse and Content Analysis, mainly) and its possibility of guaranteeing a technical-methodological rigor in face of the flexibility and dynamics of the communicational area..
