In this work, the social network that led to the construction of Graneros y Muelles del Rosario is studied from a local perspective, prioritizing the role occupied by the businessman in the future of the company. From a relational point of view, we approached for the first time one of the companies in which Thomas appears as a founding partner in order to lay the foundations and study his other ventures, which will allow us to define his profile as a multi-implanted entrepreneur. The decision to establish this type of industry was not fortuitous but rather coincided in time with the commercial control at the regional level exercised by the main Rosario businessmen, thus integrating the local space into the international commercial circuits through the implementation of infrastructure works that communicated the city with the cereal pampas. The network of sociability that made that company possible constituted a powerful plot around the entrepreneur to give legal, technical, administrative, political and social consistency to this and to his other projects. Este artículo es el punto de partida de una investigación que tiene como objetivo el estudio del proyecto agroindustrial llevado adelante por Thomas Thomas en la región pampeana a lo largo de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX. En este trabajo se estudia en perspectiva local la red social que propició la construcción de Graneros y Muelles del Rosario priorizando el rol ocupado por el empresario en el devenir de la empresa.En clave relacional abordamos por primera vez una de las empresas en que Thomas figura como socio fundador para así sentar las bases e ir estudiando sus otros emprendimientos lo que nos permitirá definir su perfil como empresario multi-implantado. La decisión de establecer este tipo de industria no fue fortuita sino que coincidió en el tiempo con el control comercial a nivel regional ejercido por los principales empresarios rosarinos integrando así el espacio local a los circuitos mercantiles internacionales mediante la implementación de obras de infraestructura que comunicaron la ciudad con la pampa cerealera. La red de sociabilidad que hizo posible aquella empresa constituyó una poderosa trama alrededor del empresario para dar consistencia jurídica, técnica, administrativa, política y social a éste y a sus otros proyectos.
