The biographical memory enables to consider the significance of memories shaping the architect’s personality while a more instrumental dimension allows the operation in the city through built segments over time. The dialogue deals with the concepts of material, construction and time enhancing the comprehension of not only the work of this Spanish architect but also his academic role as professor in postgraduate education. It is in the Museum of Archaeology in Vitoria that Mangado’s ideas take shape. The museum has become the means by which Mangado has turned his work into the backdrop of a city in which memory is alive. La celebración de la Bienal de Arquitectura Latinoamericana que tuvo lugar en Pamplona en mayo de 2017 fue el marco para la realización de esta entrevista al arquitecto Francisco Patxi Mangado. La conversación se focaliza en torno al concepto de Memoria y su interacción con el proyecto arquitectónico. La memoria biográfica permitiría ubicar el valor de los recuerdos en la configuración de la personalidad del arquitecto mientras una dimensión más instrumental permitiría operar en la ciudad con fragmentos construidos a lo largo del tiempo. Materia, construcción, tiempo son conceptos que acompañan el diálogo permitiendo hacer un aporte a la comprensión de la obra del arquitecto español y a su trabajo docente ahora comprometido con la formación de posgrado.
