| Sumario: | This article explores José Vial Armstrong Historical Archive (AHJVA) of the School of Architecture and Design of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso (e[ad] PUCV) It is focused on its Cuadernos Fundadores Collection as a living archive. The article analyzes multiple dimensions -epistemic, poetic and pedagogical- introduced by these creation sketchbooks and it documents internal experiences of the associated archival work. It also integrates findings from recent research (such as the theses carried out by Francisca Oñate and Natalia Duimovic), the development of the digital platform Cuaderno Grama, and the cultural heritage project Entre Páginas y Dibujos. It examines how these initiatives have influenced the experiences of the AHJVA and highlights how the interaction of students, faculty, and researchers with the sketchbooks generates new meanings, learning, and a sense of community. The article concludes that a situated academic archive can become a living laboratory that links memory to creation, thereby projecting its legacy to new generations. |
