To justify its methodology and selection criteria, the article makes a brief presentation of the social, political, and economic context of the period and its disciplinary impacts on Latin American architecture. It sets the tone for the creative processes of these architectural productions departing from contemporary debates on the production of community spaces. El artículo presenta una breve panorámica de arquitecturas latinoamericanas elegidas por su vocación de actuar como centros comunitarios. Las obras fueron realizadas en los últimos diez años en territorios vulnerables y fueron seleccionadas a partir de un filtro de autoría: proyectos diseñados por oficinas dirigidas por arquitectas. Para justificar su metodología y criterios de selección, el artículo hace una breve presentación del contexto social, político y económico del período y sus impactos disciplinares en la arquitectura latinoamericana, marcando la pauta de los procesos creativos de estas producciones arquitectónicas, a partir de debates contemporáneos sobre la producción de espacios comunitarios.
