description El desplazamiento forzado de personas estuvo presente en el período paleobabilónico (2002-1595 a. C.), no con la preeminencia de épocas posteriores pero sí como una forma de coerción socio-política importante en toda la zona siro-mesopotámica. En lo que respecta al reino de Mari durante el siglo XVIII, tanto la dinastía Lîm como la de la Alta Mesopotamia, llevaron adelante deportaciones individuales y/o masivas. En este trabajo se tratará de indagar algunos aspectos de lo que comporta el desplazamiento forzado a través del acto de la deportación masiva llevado adelante por el estado de Mari durante casi medio siglo de su historia.
