I11-R97-article-82892024-11-04T18:08:02Z Saint Augustine, a passionate reader of the Scriptures San Agustín, un lector apasionado de la Escritura Cúnsulo, Rafael San Agustín hermenéutica signos intencionales exégesis interpretación St. Augustine hermeneutics intentional signs exegesis interpretation This article aims to explore St. Augustine as a great biblical exegete and, consequently, a great theologian. St. Augustine's hermeneutics is founded on a metaphorical basis, particularly the use of figurative or transposed meaning, predominantly through allegory, which reveals his passionate heart and clairvoyant mind. While these transposed meanings have persisted over time, the Augustinian passion has gradually declined with the advent of rationalist and post-rationalist modernity.
