description La necesidad de escribir, además de un modo de salvaguardar la memoria individual o colectiva, es una exigencia catártica opuesta al silencio más indecible. Los cánones artísticos y literarios entonces se convierten en un espacio para la verdad. En esta contribución en particular se apela a la experiencia bélica del poeta italiano Clemente Rebora, quien combatió en la Primera Guerra Mundial, durante la cual expuso a lo largo de un íntimo y expresivo epistolario su ambivalente postura ante el trauma. Trincheras, hospitales y manicomios completan el recorrido de los recuerdos y reflexiones de Rebora, quien al mismo tiempo compuso una obra poética que, a la par de su epistolario, ofrecen un contrapunto de creación y biografía. Abstract The need to write, in addition to a way of safeguarding individual or collective memory, is a cathartic requirement opposed to the most unspeakable silence. The artistic and literary canons become then a place for expressing the truth. In this particular contribution, the author refers to the experience of the Italian poet Clemente Rebora, who fought in the First World War, during which he expressed his ambivalent attitude towards trauma through an intimate and sensitive set of letters. Trenches, hospitals, and asylums complete the path of his memories and reflections. At the same time, along with his correspondence, Rebora composed a poetic work that offers a counterpoint between creation and biography.
