It shows the productive, economic and social divisions between the north and the south of the province. With a historical focus, this article tries to analyse the development and evolution of the rice production in Santa Fe, together with its griding and exporting processes since 1990’s economic model (Convertibility) until the present. It digs into the impact of the macroeconomic changes on the development of the production of rice, its present status and its future.
