This work makes a contribution to the discussion proposed in this dossier through an analysis of the role of media in inhabiting and territorialisation processes at a local level, which provides the basis for a reading of the media system at a national and Latin American level. For this purpose, Influence of the Media is presented as a sociocultural aspect that affects the quality of life of the local population, and the territorialisation processes in the Luján Partido (Province of Buenos Aires). This approach is based on the conceptual construction of such a sociocultural aspect, its evaluation, and socio-spatial analysis, based on a theoretical-methodological development based on the integration of audiovisual technologies, focus groups, and geographic information systems.
Its application to the Luján Partido allows to identify the effects and risks that said "influence" may have on the quality of life of the population. The main risks identified were the following ones: A) the potential of the identifications of the brand; B) the vulnerability resulting from media illiteracy; and C) the passive individualization that disconnects knowledge and territory. To conclude, such risks denote relevance for designing and implementing public policies aimed at mitigating such risks, which will result in the promotion of other ways of inhabiting the territory. |
