The theoretical framework is based on growth economic theory and the local development approach. The method used is a bibliometric analysis of the impact of the Maya Train on tourism development in Mexico, offering a perspective on how this infrastructure project could reshape the tourism landscape in the southeast of the country. This study is based on the quantitative evaluation of scientific publications and research articles, focusing on the most frequently discussed topics and the main authors contributing to the debate in the Google academic and scopus platforms. The findings of the bibliometric analysis reveal that there is a wide range of opinions and approaches to the Mayan Train, both positive and negative. Therefore, identifying the governance of the villages and their development in tourism activity is central for a congruent planning according to the requirements sought in each population that implements a tourism project El objetivo es analizar de forma bibliométrica el impacto del tren maya y los pueblos mágicos en el Desarrollo Turístico en México. El marco teórico se basa en la teórica económica de crecimiento y en el enfoque de desarrollo local. El método utilizado es un análisis bibliométrico sobre el impacto del Tren Maya en el desarrollo turístico de México, a través del cual se ofrece una perspectiva de cómo este proyecto de infraestructura podría reconfigurar el panorama turístico en el sureste del país. Este estudio se basa en la evaluación cuantitativa de publicaciones científicas y artículos de investigación, centrando la atención en los temas más frecuentemente discutidos y los autores principales que contribuyen al debate en las plataformas Google academic y scopus. Los hallazgos del análisis bibliométrico revelan que existe una amplia gama de opiniones y enfoques respecto al Tren Maya (tanto positivos como negativos). Por lo tanto, identificar la gobernanza de los pueblos y su desarrollo en la actividad turística es central para una planeación congruente, conforme a los requerimientos que se busca en cada población que implementa un proyecto turístico.
