In the last decade, ethno-tourism has increased, as its offer brings together natural resources, cultural traditions and rural life. The tourist's gaze is guided by the ideals of tourism and elements of the daily life of these ethnic groups, which are of interest to various types of tourists. This paper reviews the context of the country's eight indigenous peoples and the areas of intangible cultural heritage that have become tourist attractions. The effects of tourism and Covid-19 have influenced the communities in different ways depending on their dependence on tourism activity. Costa Rica es reconocida por su biodiversidad y el modelo de turismo ecológico. En la última década, el etnoturismo se ha incrementado, pues su oferta reúne recursos de la naturaleza, las tradiciones culturales y la vida rural. La mirada del turista se guía por los idearios del turismo y elementos de la vida cotidiana de estas etnias, que son de interés para diversos tipos de turistas. En esta comunicación, se reseña el contexto de los ocho pueblos indígenas del país y los ámbitos del patrimonio cultural inmaterial que se han convertido en atractivos turísticos. Los efectos del turismo y de la Covid-19 han influido de maneras diferentes a las comunidades, según su dependencia de la actividad turística.
