This way heritage gets a central role due to its material and immaterial representation of history that was created by the society where it takes place nowadays. It is necessary to get the ability to understand and respect the heritage of our own culture and others. It is crucial to protect heritage to make it public, to avoid its deterioration or disappearance, to let us grow as society and as human beings by incorporating physical and intangible elements, which have been built and created by our ancestors and by other cultures.The strengthen of this relation will provide new valuable elements to the development of the cultural tourism and will give a better visualization and protection of the heritage En la siguiente nota se analiza la relación entre la historia y el turismo, una relación que necesita un conocimiento de la primera para su incorporación en un tipo de turismo específico que es el turismo cultural. Es allí donde el patrimonio adquiere el rol protagónico, ya que es la representación tanto material como inmaterial de la historia de la sociedad que lo construyó y de la cual es hoy parte. Para ello adquirir la capacidad de comprender y respetar el patrimonio de la propia cultura como de culturas diferentes es una necesidad que se presenta de forma imperativa. Proteger el patrimonio, para darlo a conocer, y evitar que se deteriore o desaparezca, que nos permita crecer como sociedad y como personas por medio de la incorporación de elementos, tanto físicos como inmateriales, construidos ygenerados por nuestros antepasados y por culturas a las cuales nos acercamospara conocerlas e incorporar su legado. Fortalecer esta relación proporciona nuevos elementos de valor para el desarrollo del turismo cultural y permite una mayor visibilización y protección del patrimonio.
