In the year 2018, we shared a meeting with Walter Kohan in Brazil, as we were invited by André Ferreira da Silva to participate in the IX Paulo Freire International Symposium which is held at Recife, Paulo Freire´s hometown. There we picked up a dialogue initiated in 2015 about the article published by Walter on "Sujetos y saberes: perspectivas" dossier of the first volume of Saberes y prácticas: a philosophy and education journal. Then, on January of this year, we picked up our unfinished conversation and started a two-voice writing.
We located our dialogue in between philosophy and education, where each one of us examined its own disciplinary traditions as a starting point to think Paulo Freire and to think with Paulo Freire. We studied some aspects of his life as educator and his work, we analyzed its writings and how the shepherd aspect it´s intertwined with the political aspect within the Freirean pedagogy. |
