Nos proponemos aquí indagar las potencialidades expresivas del arte y su condición trascendente, en tanto rasgo, contorno o figura que abre a una relación con el mundo, tratada desde temas de la estética: presencia y significancia. Estas remiten a las cosas presentes y a su impacto sobre los cuerpos humanos, cuyos efectos implican una mirada sobre la representación o significancia de lo irrepresentable, asunto central en la teología y en el arte. Este trabajo aborda las condiciones substanciales del arte ligadas al efecto de presencia, en tensión y oscilación con la dimensión de representación o significancia. Indagamos las peculiaridades de este arte que no solo trata el tema de la cristiandad, el espacio y el tiempo, sino también las condiciones trascendentales de su carácter, como acontecimiento, alumbramiento o esencialidad viva, que resuena en la materia artística antes de ser objeto de representación o significancia. Finalmente, repensamos la función estética del arte litúrgico, lo que conducirá a una reflexión en torno a las vinculaciones entre arte y religión. Abstract: This work revolves around liturgical art, a name that brings together singular and diverse productions, among which is architecture, which shares the same concern for the religious. We propose here to address the expressive potential of art and its transcendent condition, as a feature, contour or figure that opens a relationship with the world, from the aesthetic themes: presence and significance. That refers to present things and their impact on human bodies, whose effects imply a look at the representation or significance of the unrepresentable, a central issue in theology and art. The writing works on the substantial conditions of art linked to the effect of presence, in tension and oscillation with the dimension of representation or significance. We investigate the peculiarities of this art that not only deals with the theme of Christianity, space and time, but also the transcendental conditions of its character as an event, enlightenment or living essentiality that resonates in the artistic matter before being an object of representation or significance.
