Las elaboraciones de las sucesivas generaciones humanas deben ser incorporadas, desde las luces antiguas hasta las ciencias más recientes. La tradición, la historia y la experiencia deben ser retenidos en la reunión de la totalidad del saber, y ser sometidas a clasificación, jerarquización y configuración enciclopédica, para beneficio intelectual y moral de la humanidad. Esta inmensa tarea implica un arte, una actitud conciliadora, dialogal y abierta al devenir histórico y la elaboración de una ciencia general de las estructuras formales que son comunes a ciencias completamente diversas entre sí. Leibniz proposes to rigorously encompass the inherited cultural heritage, to have a universal encyclopedia, always ready for the progressive expansion of knowledge. The elaborations of successive human generations must be incorporated, from the ancient lights to the most recent sciences. Tradition, history and experience must be retained in the gathering of the totality of knowledge, and must be subject to classification, hierarchy and encyclopedic configuration, for the intellectual and moral benefit of humanity. This immense task implies an art, a conciliatory attitude, dialogical and open to historical evolution and the elaboration of a general science of formal structures that are common to sciences that are completely different from each other.
