Paredes Pinda’s poem is written in a mixture of languages though predominantly in Spanish. She does not translate or use a glossary but translation appears as the core of a reflection on language. In this paper I use the notion of ‘Kuñifal’ (in Mapuche), which means orphan. En el presente artículo se indagan las decisiones sobre el pasaje entre el mapuchezungun y el castellano en un corpus de textos y metatextos pertenecientes a tres poetas: Elicura Chihuailaf, Liliana Ancalao y Adriana Paredes Pinda. Los dos primeros escriben poemas en ambas lenguas y recurren a la noción de ‘oralitura’ para reflexionar sobre la relación entre el mapuchezungun, su escritura y la traducción al castellano. El poema elegido de Paredes Pinda se presenta escrito en la mezcla de lenguas –mayoritariamente en castellano, incorpora palabras mapuche– y prescinde de la traducción aunque esta aparece como núcleo de la reflexión sobre la lengua. En este sentido, una de las nociones a las que se apela en este trabajo es la de ‘kuñifal’ (huérfano).
