In the artist’s body, in its appearance – that is, as an aesthetic emergency – an event is configured in which the ethical question par excellence – the decision – is put into play, as a vindication of a possible life. Lo que intentaré subrayar en las páginas siguientes es la singularidad de la figura crítica del cuerpo, o incluso, la especificidad del cuerpo como crítica, en algunas obras de Antonio Manuel de los años sesenta y setenta. En el cuerpo del artista, en su aparición –es decir, como emergencia estética– se configura un acontecimiento en el que se pone en juego la cuestión ética por excelencia –la decisión–, como reivindicación de una vida posible.
