In this way, my analysis enters a direct dialogue with public policies and strategies for the conservation and development of urban space within the revolutionary period. First, I analyze the representation of Havana in Memorias del subdesarrollo (Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, 1968), where the city functions as a proxy between the revolution and the leading intellectual during the first years of the regime. Then I go over Buscándote Habana (Alina Rodríguez, 2006), a short documentary that explores the marginalized spaces of the city through the testimony of illegal Cuban migrants. Finally, I analyze a dystopian Havana in the fiction short Tundra (José Luis Aparicio, 2021). Este ensayo analiza la forma en que la representación de La Habana en el cine cubano proyecta relaciones económicas y sociales de sus habitantes a través del tiempo. Para hacerlo, elijo tres filmes realizados en tres momentos diferentes en el contexto posterior a 1959. De esa forma, mi análisis entra en diálogo directo con las políticas públicas y las estrategias de conservación y desarrollo del espacio urbano dentro del periodo revolucionario. Primero, analizo la representación de la Habana en Memorias del subdesarrollo (Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, 1968), en donde la ciudad funciona como intermediaria entre la revolución y el intelectual protagonista durante los primeros años del proceso. Después me detengo en Buscándote Habana (Alina Rodríguez, 2006), corto documental donde se exploran los espacios marginalizados de la ciudad a través del testimonio de migrantes cubanos ilegales. Finalmente, reviso la reelaboración de una Habana distópica en el corto de ficción Tundra (José Luis Aparicio, 2021).
