A set of Creole writings, in the most varied genres, are marked by the Hispanic grievances and underestimates to the man born in this land. In a memoir by Buenaventura de Salinas y Córdoba, Elena Altuna recognizes what she calls the "rhetoric of redress" and studies the arguments in defense of the dignity of man and the land in America, the resources and strategies that tend to establish equity between Creoles and metropolitans. Guided by the theoretical postulates of the scholar from Salta, we analyze in this work the textual operations through which don Luis de Tejeda defends his offended honor in his work. El lugar social de los criollos en el s. XVII en las colonias americanas fue un espacio de legitimidad disputada que impone a los sujetos un celoso cuidado de la honra en su espacio social. Un conjunto de escritos criollos, en los más variados géneros, quedan marcados por las subestimaciones hispanas al hombre nacido en esta tierra. En un Memorial de Buenaventura de Salinas y Córdoba, Elena Altuna reconoce lo que designa la “retórica de desagravio” y estudia los argumentos de defensa de la dignidad del hombre y la tierra en América, los recursos y estrategias que tienden a establecer la equidad entre criollos y metropolitanos. Orientados por los postulados teóricos de la estudiosa salteña analizamos en este trabajo las operaciones textuales mediante las cuales don Luis de Tejeda defiende en su obra su honra agraviada.
