Sumario:El sistema de las estrellas (2017) by Carlos Chernov is a marginal novel –we assume this presupposition- which doesn´t establishes a dialogue with the generic tradition of Rioplatense science-fiction, neither obeys the state of theoretical discussion which considers the habitus of contemporary anticipation literature. Nevertheless, it expresses certain tendencies constitutive of the dystopian imaginary of the twentieth century which remain, likewise, in the thematic repertoire of advanced sci-fi rewritings. In this work, we discuss the political meaning of the return to old narrative forms in a contemporary text that warns and unmask certain ambitions of capitalism’s dominance rationality.
