Nevertheless, it expresses certain tendencies constitutive of the dystopian imaginary of the twentieth century which remain, likewise, in the thematic repertoire of advanced sci-fi rewritings. In this work, we discuss the political meaning of the return to old narrative forms in a contemporary text that warns and unmask certain ambitions of capitalism’s dominance rationality. El sistema de las estrellas, de Carlos Chernov (2017), es una novela marginal —partimos de este presupuesto— que no dialoga con la tradición genérica de la ciencia ficción rioplatense ni se somete al estado de las discusiones teóricas que contempla el habitus del presente de la anticipación, pero sí expresa ciertas tendencias constitutivas del imaginario distópico del siglo XX que persisten, asimismo, en el repertorio temático de las reescrituras avanzadas del género. Nos abocamos, en este trabajo, a discutir el significado político del retorno a viejas formas narrativas en un texto actual de pretensiones admonitorias y desenmascaradoras de la racionalidad de dominio capitalista.
