In that novel, whose main action runs entirely at the cuban capitol city of La Habana, harassment endured by its main character is mirrored by the antique city architecture, that stand against the arrival of modern times; also, photography serves as the key to a retrospective of the main character –and presents itself as the model for the narrative structure; finally, La Habana is presented as a collage-city: a city characterized by the ensemble of heterogeneous elements.
