F. Sarmiento in El Nacional since 1855 and El tempe argentino (1858) by Marcos Sastre, the lower Delta of the Paraná River is considered a ‘Desierto’, that is, a timeless tabula rasa place on which it is possible to imagine a territory and to project an harmonic landscape with a high productive potential. In Apuntes sobre las islas del Delta argentino by Santiago Albarracín, the use of the charts of accounts disables the Delta representation as Paradise because it brings the successive order in which people try —unsuccessfully— to make this land productive. This text not only questions the way in which the Delta is represented but also undermines the landscape harmonic configuration based on a natural order in which productivity is seen as a land value rather than a result of human work. En los artículos publicados por D. F. Sarmiento en El Nacional a partir de 1855 y El tempe argentino (1858) de Marcos Sastre, la construcción del paisaje está habilitada por la consideración del Delta del Paraná Inferior como Desierto; una tabula rasa atemporal que permite hacer surgir la imaginación sobre el territorio y proyectar sobre este la configuración de un paisaje armónico con alto potencial productivo. En Apuntes sobre las islas del Delta argentino de Santiago Albarracín, la introducción de la contabilidad intenta desarticular la construcción del Delta como paraíso en la medida en que recupera un orden sucesivo para narrar los intentos de volver esta tierra productiva. Esta confrontación exhibe no solo un cuestionamiento sobre modos de representación, sino también un resquebrajamiento de una construcción armónica de paisaje basada en un orden natural, en la que la productividad es vista como una propiedad de la tierra antes que del trabajo humano.
