Lezama Lima’s and Alejo Carpentiers’ work, along with the poetry of Osvaldo Lamborghini, and the prose of Washington Cucurto, seemed to have opted for an irreverently anti-Occidentalist aesthetic that urges reading culture against to the established. With a marked influence from the Caribbean and the region of the Rio de la Plata indistinctly, we found new leaks that re-signify what Néstor Perlongher denominated as <<neobarroso>>.This article analyzes how this neologism is not only applicable to literature, but also as the mark of a historical sensitivity. In order to accomplish this, we trace the linking points between the Afrio-american history and the literary work of Cucurto. As a result, we have find the traces of a new <<Caribbean drift>> linked with the Rio de la Plata.This way, we contribute to the construction of a genealogy that links artistic and social sensibilities through the study of its ca(r)nnibal and transplatinian characteristics. Es posible leer en Latinoamérica una profusión de textos atravesados por el elemento afro-indo-americano que a su vez dialoga con el tono particular de lo que Severo Sarduy denominara como neobarroco. Desde las obras de Lezama Lima y Alejo Carpentier, hasta la poética de Osvaldo Lamborghini o la prosa de Washington Cucurto, pareciera haberse optado por una estética irreverentemente antioccidental que insta a leer la cultura a contrapelo. Con una marcada influencia entre la región caribeña y la platense indistintamente, encontramos nuevas fugas para resignificar aquello que Néstor Perlongher denominó como <<neobarroso>>.A partir de aquí, el presente trabajo se propone analizar cómo tal neologismo no sería meramente aplicable a la literatura, sino más bien la marca de una <<sensibilidad>> histórica. Para ello se buscan los puntos de contacto entre el estudio de la historia afro-americana y los textos literarios de Cucurto, con la intención de observar atentamente los rastros de lo que se podría leer como una nueva <<deriva caribeña>> y su respectivo vínculo con el Plata.Pretendemos ofrecer aquí un modesto aporte para la construcción de una genealogía posible que ligue esa <<sensibilidad>> artística y social, a través del estudio de su carácter ca(r)nivalesco y transplatino.
