Open science raises the open access of the different elements that make up science, for this to be possible, a transformation in the traditional way of doing science is necessary. Although the concepts of open science were tacitly present throughout evolution, with the appearance of the Internet it is considered as a product of this, due to the ability to generate disintermediation in the processes of access and dissemination of information. The objective of this work was to describe the situation of the scientific journals of the National University of Asunción based on the main open access indicators available. For this, a documentary-bibliographical research was developed with a quantitative approach, based on the data. The results showed that, although there are 25 journals within the National University of Asunción, only 18 of them are on the scientific journals portal, all of them being refereed and indexed. The management of social networks is incipient, however, it denotes a greater number of citations in articles from the area of health sciences. Paraguay is moving towards open science, and to advance in the different challenges it is necessary that the actions can be agreed between all the parties that comprise them: the academy, the research centers and institutes, as well as the governing bodies of the scientific area. |

La ciencia abierta plantea el acceso abierto de los diferentes elementos que componen la ciencia, para que esto sea posible, es necesario una transformación en la manera tradicional de hacer ciencia. Si bien los conceptos de ciencia abierta estuvieron tácitamente presentes a lo largo de la evolución, con la aparición de internet se considera como un producto de ello, debido a la capacidad de generar la desintermediación en los procesos de acceso y divulgación de la información. El objetivo de este trabajo fue describir la situación de las revistas científicas de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción a partir de los principales indicadores del acceso abierto disponibles. Para ello se desarrolló una investigación documental-bibliográfica con enfoque cuantitativo, a partir de los datos los resultados mostraron que, si bien existen 25 revistas dentro de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción, solo 18 de ellas están en el portal de revistas científicas, siendo todas arbitradas e indizadas. El manejo de redes sociales es incipiente, no obstante, denota una mayor cantidad de citaciones en artículos provenientes del área de ciencias de la salud. Paraguay está transitando hacia la ciencia abierta, y para avanzar en los diferentes desafíos es necesario que las acciones puedan ser acordadas entre todas las partes que las integran: la academia, los centros e institutos de investigación, así como los órganos rectores del área científica. A ciência aberta suscita o acesso aberto dos diferentes elementos que compõem a ciência, para que isso seja possível é necessária uma transformação na forma tradicional de fazer ciência. Embora os conceitos de ciência aberta estivessem tacitamente presentes ao longo da evolução, com o surgimento da Internet ela é considerada como produto desta, devido à capacidade de gerar desintermediação nos processos de acesso e disseminação da informação. O objetivo deste trabalho foi descrever a situação das revistas científicas da Universidade Nacional de Assunção com base nos principais indicadores de acesso aberto disponíveis. Para isso, foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa documental-bibliográfica com abordagem quantitativa, com base nos dados. Os resultados mostraram que, embora haja 25 revistas dentro da Universidade Nacional de Assunção, apenas 18 delas estão no portal de revistas científicas, sendo eles referenciados e indexados. A gestão das redes sociais é incipiente, porém denota um maior número de citações em artigos da área das ciências da saúde. O Paraguai está caminhando para a ciência aberta e, para avançar nos diferentes desafios, é necessário que as ações sejam acordadas entre todas as partes que as compõem: a academia, os centros e institutos de pesquisa, bem como os órgãos dirigentes da área científica.
