description This study focused on the evaluation of differences in the demands of labor competencies for graduates of UNA careers, within various areas of knowledge, based on the assessment perceived by graduates. The study was exploratory and inferential (non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test) and the information corresponds to a sample of graduates of UNA. The hypothesis tested was that the generic competences demanded vary depending on the area of ​​knowledge of the graduates. The results indicate significant differences between the types of competencies demanded for the different areas of knowledge, specifically in the basic and development competences, the health area differs significantly from the areas of science, education and humanities and art, social sciences, administration and commerce , as well as law. The labor market of the professions demands for the same basic and development competences to the professionals of both sexes; in contrast, the required relational competencies vary. The application of job skills at work and the skills acquired during the career are positively and significantly correlated. The results of this study allow further research on the adequacy of the training of graduates in generic labor skills to the labor market needs.

Este estudio consistió en la evaluación de diferencias en las demandas de competencias laborales a egresados de carreras de la UNA pertenecientes a diversas áreas de conocimiento, con base en la valoración percibida por los egresados. El estudio fue exploratorio e inferencial (prueba no paramétrica de Kruskal-Wallis) y la información corresponde a una muestra de egresados de la UNA. La hipótesis probada fue que las competencias genéricas demandadas varían y esto depende del área de conocimiento de los egresados. Los resultados indican diferencias significativas entre los tipos de competencias demandadas para las diferentes áreas de conocimiento, específicamente en las competencias básicas y de desarrollo; el área de salud difiere significativamente de las áreas de ciencias, de educación y humanidades y arte, de ciencias sociales, administración y comercio, así como de derecho. El mercado laboral de las profesiones demanda por igual competencias básicas y de desarrollo a los profesionales de ambos sexos; en contraste, las competencias relacionales exigidas varían. La aplicación de las competencias laborales en el trabajo y las competencias adquiridas durante la carrera están correlacionadas en forma positiva y significativa. Los resultados de este estudio permiten profundizar en investigaciones sobre la adecuación de la formación de los egresados en competencias laborales genéricas a las necesidades del mercado laboral. Este estudo consistiu em avaliar as diferenças na demanda de mão-de-obra dos graduados das carreiras da UNA pertencentes a várias áreas do conhecimento, com base no valor percebido dos graduados. O estudo foi exploratório e inferencial (teste não paramétrico Kruskal-Wallis) e as informações correspondem a uma amostra de graduados da UNA. A hipótese testada foi que as competências genéricas exigidas variam de acordo com a área de conhecimento dos graduados. Os resultados indicam diferenças significativas entre os tipos de competências exigidas para as diferentes áreas do conhecimento. Especificamente, nas competências básicas e de desenvolvimento, a área da saúde difere significativamente das áreas de ciência, educação e humanidades e arte, ciências sociais, administração e comércio, e direito. O mercado de trabalho para as profissões exige competências básicas e de desenvolvimento igualmente dos profissionais de ambos os sexos; em contraste, as competências relacionais exigidas variam.
