The methodology responds to a preferably qualitative approach and is based on the triangulation of data from primary and secondary sources. The results show the origin and transformation processes of the kiwal territories, the composition of the productive agents in different stages and their territorial configuration. The process of expansion and productive reconfiguration that this crop is going through and the trends that explain the arrival of new agents and the permanence alternatives of other producers are discussed. The results show an innovative crop in a territory that lacks fruit tradition and its sustained expansion in a scenario defined by a complex network of individual, collective and institutional actors. El presente artículo tiene por objetivo analizar los rasgos de la expansión del cultivo de kiwi en el sudeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires (Argentina) y los agentes productivos en las distintas fases de su desarrollo; se trata de un cultivo global inmerso en los procesos de reestructuración que han afectado a la agricultura de nuestro país. La metodología responde a un abordaje preferentemente cualitativo y se basa en la triangulación de datos provenientes de relevamientos primarios y de fuentes secundarias. Los resultados muestran el origen y los procesos de transformación de los territorios del kiwal, la composición de los agentes productivos en distintas etapas y su configuración territorial. Se discute el proceso de expansión y reconfiguración productiva que atraviesa este cultivo y las tendencias que explican el arribo de nuevos agentes y las alternativas de permanencia de otros productores. Los hallazgos dan cuenta de un cultivo innovador en un territorio que carece de tradición frutícola y su expansión sostenida en un escenario definido por un complejo entramado de actores individuales, colectivos e institucionales.
