However,his approach differs from that of the professional mathematicianin relevant aspects. The paper tries to compare two different styles ofsolving mathematical problems, beyond the professions that producethem: (1) a search for elegant visual expressions versus (2) theexploratory search for efficient strategic manipulations. It is arguedthat both styles are components inherent in the creative processes ofsolving complex problems.
