Meyer, an American rabbi sent to Argentina as a representative of the conservative Jewish movement (masorti), this paper analyzes the representation of anti-Semitism and political violence before, during and after the period of the last military dictatorship. In particular, the focus is placed on investigating the reasons why in the democratic transition (1983-1985) anti-Semitism became a flag of intersectoral denunciation to name “all forms of violence” and within the framework of the desire for recovery democracy. The “uses” of the Holocaust in Argentina are studied differentiating the moments of its authorization to reference the Argentine experience. A partir de un conjunto de cartas y documentos de Marshall T. Meyer, rabino estadounidense enviado a la Argentina como representante del movimiento judío conservador (masorti), se indaga la representación del antisemitismo y de la violencia política antes, durante y después del período de la última dictadura militar. En particular, el foco se coloca en investigar los motivos por los cuales en la transición democrática (1983-1985) el antisemitismo pasó a ser una bandera de denuncia intersectorial para nombrar “todas las formas de violencia” y en el marco del anhelo de recuperación democrática. Se estudian los “usos” del Holocausto y los momentos de su habilitación para referenciar la experiencia argentina. Com base em um conjunto de cartas e documentos de Marshall T. Meyer, um rabino americano enviado à Argentina como representante do movimento judaico conservador (Masorti), este artigo investiga a representação do antissemitismo e da violência política antes, durante e depois do período da última ditadura militar. Em particular, o foco é a investigação das razões pelas quais, durante a transição democrática (1983-1985), o antissemitismo se tornou uma bandeira de denúncia interseccional para nomear "todas as formas de violência" e no contexto do anseio pela recuperação democrática.
