This paper presents a detailed characterization of the rock art of site Corcovo 2 (southern Mendoza, Argentina), a set of engraved boulders which stands out for the high frequency of head-mask figures motifs. In the region under study, these motifs form a rather unexplored and fragmentary corpus of information. However, in nearby regions they have been systematically studied and linked to territorial practices (e.g. Tandilia and Ventania). To test this hypothesis in the region under study, we combine the information recorded at Corcovo 2 with that available for the head-mask figures motifs of the entire southern Mendoza region. The results obtained show links between sites with head-mask figures motifs and spaces with certain characteristics which lead us to think about the existence of territorial demarcation practices fostered by the great economic and social changes that have occurred in the region during the last 2000 years of human occupation. |

Se presenta una caracterización detallada del arte rupestre del sitio Corcovo 2 (sur de Mendoza, Argentina), un conjunto de bloques grabados que destaca por la elevada frecuencia de motivos cefalomorfos-mascariformes. Estos motivos cuentan en la región con un corpus de información poco explorado y fragmentario. En cambio, en regiones cercanas (e.g. Tandilia y Ventania), donde han sido sistemáticamente estudiados, se los ha vinculado a prácticas de control territorial. Para evaluar esta hipótesis, en la región bajo estudio, se combina la información que registramos en Corcovo 2 con la disponible para los motivos cefalomorfos-mascariformes de todo el sur de Mendoza. Los resultados obtenidos muestran vínculos entre sitios con motivos cefalomorfos-mascariformes y espacios con características determinadas que permiten pensar en la existencia de prácticas de demarcación territorial propiciadas por los grandes cambios económicos y sociales ocurridos en la región durante los últimos 2000 años de ocupación humana. É apresentada uma caracterização detalhada da arte rupestre do sítio Corcovo 2 (sul de Mendoza, Argentina), um grupo de blocos gravados que se destaca pela alta frequência de motivos cefalomorfos-mascariformes. Esses motivos têm um corpus de informações pouco explorado e fragmentário na região. Por outro lado, em regiões próximas (por exemplo, Tandilia e Ventania), onde foram sistematicamente estudados, eles foram associados a práticas de controle territorial. Para avaliar essa hipótese, na região em estudo, combinamos as informações que registramos em Corcovo 2 com as disponíveis para motivos cefalomorfos-mascariformes de todo o sul de Mendoza. Os resultados obtidos mostram ligações entre sítios com motivos cefalomorfos-mascariformes e espaços com características específicas que sugerem a existência de práticas de demarcação territorial favorecidas pelas grandes mudanças econômicas e sociais ocorridas na região durante os últimos 2000 anos de ocupação humana.
