We present the socio-environmental history over almost 2000 years and contextualize it with the characteristics of the process on a regional scale. The results define the barreal as a persistent space where different social, economic and political organizations settled, building their villages, carrying out productive activities and burying their dead since the societies of the first millennium until Spanish-indigenous moments. En este trabajo integramos espacial y temporalmente la información primaria y secundaria del barreal de La Troya (departamento Tinogasta, Catamarca), la cual fue generada por distintos actores y circunstancias en el desarrollo de la práctica arqueológica, específicamente los pioneros de la disciplina, las colecciones en guarda en museos, los estudios de impacto y los proyectos de investigación. Damos cuenta de la historia socioambiental del barreal a lo largo de casi 2000 años y la contextualizamos con las características del proceso a escala regional. Los resultados definen al barreal como un espacio persistente donde distintas organizaciones sociales, económicas y políticas se asentaron construyendo sus poblados, realizando actividades productivas y enterrando a sus muertos desde las sociedades del primer milenio hasta momentos hispano-indígenas. Neste trabalho, integramos espacial e temporalmente as informações primárias e secundárias do Barreal de La Troya (departamento de Tinogasta, Catamarca), gerado por diferentes atores e circunstâncias no desenvolvimento da prática arqueológica, especificamente os pioneiros da disciplina, as coleções , estudos de impacto e projetos de pesquisa. Contamos a história socioambiental ao longo de quase 2000 anos, onde ocorreram diferentes paisagens arqueológicas que descrevem o barreal como um espaço persistente, onde grupos com diferentes organizações sociais, econômicas e políticas se estabeleceram, construindo suas aldeias, realizando atividades produtivas e enterrando suas terras. morto das sociedades do primeiro milênio para os momentos hispânico-indígenas.
