Those texts implied a rupture - from within - with the German diffusionism, a widespread paradigm in the local academy since the end of the 19th century. The author points out two central concepts for his ethnological project: barbarism and dynchronization of the synchronic. Both texts try to recreate a history of ethnology that goes beyond the usual canons of this type of narratives. First, due its historical depth; second because it does not close on the local sphere (in other words, it denies making a “history of anthropology in Argentina” to pursue a general history of Anthropology, or more specifically, of Ethnology); and third because it prioritizes Latin (Spanish and Italian) and Germans authors instead of French and Anglo-Saxons. Se realiza un comentario sobre dos trabajos del antropólogo ítalo-argentino Marcelo Bórmida que hacia finales de la década de 1950 impactaron en la antropología argentina, pues implicaban una ruptura -pero desde dentro de la escuela- con la tradición difusionista alemana de amplio alcance en la tradición local desde fines del siglo XIX. El autor acuña dos conceptos centrales para su proyecto etnológico: barbarie y diacronización de lo sincrónico. Además, ambos textos intentan recrear una historia de la disciplina que se sale de los cánones habituales de ese tipo de relatos; primero por su profundidad histórica; segundo porque no se cierra al ámbito local, a hacer una “historia de la antropología en Argentina” sino a solo hacer una historia de la Antropología, o más específicamente, de la Etnología; y tercero porque prioriza autores latinos -españoles e italianos- y alemanes en vez de franceses y anglosajones.
