En este texto apunto, en consonancia con la estructura propuesta en los otros artículos que conforman este dossier, a retomar algunos planteos centrales del trabajo de Norbert Elias, en particular, La sociedad cortesana. En un segundo momento, intento contrastar esas ideas con cierta evidencia producida durante el trabajo de campo que alude a la sociabilidad de los egresados del Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires en general; y al activo trabajo que estos realizan para la producción y reproducción de su grupo de elite, en particular.
